Visual & digital
marketing manager.
Former White House.
I'm a visual and digital marketing manager based in Columbus, Ohio. But that title undersells what I actually bring: I spent the better part of a decade as a professional photojournalist and photo editor before pivoting into marketing — and I've never stopped thinking like a storyteller.
I grew up overseas, which gave me the kind of restlessness that makes a good photographer — always looking, always curious, always chasing the frame that says something true. I studied Visual Communication at Ohio University and went straight into daily newspaper work, covering spot news, sports, politics, and human-interest stories across Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio.
In 2012, I joined the Obama White House as Vice President Biden's Official Photo Editor and Archivist — a position I held for five years. I captioned and cataloged hundreds of thousands of images documenting visits to over 46 states and 44 countries, including trips to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Ukraine. I also led the design and production of printed photo books and managed the daily visual output of the Vice President's office.
That experience — living inside one of the world's most documented institutions, understanding how images shape perception and tell history — is what I brought directly into marketing. For the past 6+ years, I've been a digital marketing manager at some of the most interesting tech companies in the space — all remote roles: Bitwarden (open-source password management), Kin Insurance (Chicago-based insurtech), Branch Insurance (Columbus-based insurtech), and Root Insurance (tech-driven auto insurance).
I live in Columbus, Ohio with my wife Kristin — also a photographer — and our rambunctious 5-year-old. I'm available for freelance photography, marketing consulting, and full-time opportunities.
